Morir Soñando
Morir soñando, or “to die dreaming,” originated in the Dominican Republic and is a delicious way to beat the summer heat. The drink consists of only a few ingredients, but it’s important that the orange juice and evaporated milk are chilled before mixing and that everything is poured in the right order to avoid curdling. I prefer keeping the sugar crunchy so that it’s more of a dessert-like treat, but if you want the sugar to completely dissolve, remember to mix it well into the evaporated milk before adding the ice.
1 servings
- Combine the sugar, vanilla extract, ice, and evaporated milk, and stir well to mix the ingredients. The mixing will also help chill the evaporated milk more.
- In a separate cup, combine the lemon juice and the orange juice.
- Add the orange juice and lemon mix to the evaporated milk by pouring slowly while stirring nonstop. Continue to stir after the juice has been poured. Drink immediately.
