Masala Chai
The secret to feeling centered on a Monday morning is not yoga but this chai recipe. Using only six basic ingredients, this transformative drink accompanies me to daytime meetings, early morning flights, and dimly lit movie halls in a tumbler.
1 cup
- In a pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Lower the heat.
- Add the black tea leaves, ginger, and chai masala and allow it to come to a gentle boil. This should take about 1 minute.
- Add the milk and boil it for 3 to 4 minutes further over a low flame.
- Take it off the flame, strain, and serve hot.
- Stir in sugar as needed.
