Chipotle Turkey Burgers With Avocado and Bacon

Smoky bacon, spicy chipotle, and creamy avocado make these burgers truly scrumptious—with very little effort. A definite crowd-pleaser.

4 servings

  1. Cut the bacon slices in half crosswise. Cook the bacon until crisp, and set it aside.
  2. Mix together the next 9 ingredients (turkey through salt), and form into 4 patties about 1 inch thick. Use your fingers to depress the middle of each burger slightly (this will keep them from puffing up too much). Grill on an oiled grate (or broil on an oiled broiler pan) 6 inches from the heat until the burgers are cooked through (about 5 to 8 minutes per side; a meat thermometer inserted into the middle of a patty will register 155 degrees).
  3. Meanwhile, combine the mayonnaise with about 2 teaspoons of the adobo sauce (or to taste). Serve the burgers on buns with the chipotle mayo, bacon, sliced avocado, and sweet onion.
