Martin and Rebecca Cate demystify the history of tiki drinks in Smuggler’s Cove.
In the tiki heyday, there were a lot of drinks called grogs that departed considerably from a historic grog. They appropriated the name and imagery of something hearty and robust in order to appeal to the men at the bar, who would not be seen ordering something dainty like a Blushing Orchid.
