Deep-frying bananas in hot oil coated in sugar is not for the faint of heart and probably not good for your heart, either. This version sticks to two ingredients and keeps the process simple with 10 minutes in an air fryer.

Directions

  1. Coat the bananas in the coconut sugar, making sure all surfaces are covered. Spray all over with coconut oil to make the sugar stick.
  2. Set the air fryer temperature to 300°F and cook for 10 minutes. If you don't have access to an air fryer, you can cut the ripe bananas in half and fry lightly for 2 minutes on each side in a pan with a teaspoon of coconut oil. Top the flat side of the bananas with coconut sugar and set your oven to broil to melt the sugar. It will take just about a minute. Alternatively, you can also use a blowtorch to melt the sugar. Serve warm.
